National Festival of Polish Song in Opole with Eurostars! This year’s edition of annual music festival will kick off on Friday 12th of June. During the first evening six candidates will fight for Anna Jantar’s Award for the best newcomer act. Edyta Gorniak (Poland 1994) and Monika Kuszynska (Poland 2015) – first and last Polish Eurovision entrants – will perform as special guests. Monika will sing her Eurovision ballad “In the name of love” which finished 23rd in this year’s final.
On Saturday 13th June the SuperJedynki Awards will be handed to the winners of online and radio voting in few categories. Eurovision participants can be found among nominated – Blue Cafe (Poland 2004) and Donatan & Cleo (Poland 2014). Polish Eurovision comentator and TVP’s Eurovision Head of Press Artur Orzech will co-host the second evening’s show and Kasia Moś (Polish NF 2006) will perform as special act.
Later this evening the contest for new songs “SuperPremiery 2015” is scheduled. 10 acts will perform brand new songs and fight for the Grand Prix. Producer of “My Slowianie – We Are Slavic” Donatan will present song “Pelnia” with legendary singer Maryla Rodowicz. During the Interval Act Edyta Gorniak will rock the stage with her songs as she celebrates 25 years in Polish music industry.
Third and last evening of Opole Festival will be dedicated to 90th anniversary of Polish Radio. Justyna Steczkowska (Poland 1995), Edyta Gorniak, Mieczyslaw Szczesniak (Poland 1999), Katarzyna Cerekwicka (Polish Nf’s 2006 runner-up) andAndrzej Piaseczny (Poland 2001) will all perform songs related to this celebration.
Festival in Opole, one of the most important music festivals in Poland, was established in 1963 and Polish Television (TVP) and Polish Radio (PR), which are both EBU members, are traditional partners of this event. TVP1 will broadcast the show.
