The VG-lista concert in Oslo

Last night it was finally time for Scandinavia’s biggest free concert; VG-lista topp 20 at the City Hall square in Oslo. And we were there, along with 70 000 people!

As always it was full of big names, Norwegian and others. Among others we got to hear three Eurovision entrants, two MGP participants and two MGPjr winners. And there were Eurovision people in the audience as well.

Margaret Berger performed as part of a girl trio, consisting of her, Silya Nymoen and Marion Ravn. Silya took part in Melodi Grand Prix 2012, and she hosted the Norwegian final this year. The trio performed a medley of both their own songs and other hits, starting with Meghan Trainor’s “All About that Bass”.

The next Eurovision artist on stage was Guy Sebastian. He has come all the way from Australia to perform his Eurovision hit “Tonight Again”. The 70 000 people in the audience sang along to the song that received Norway’s 10 points in May.

We met with Guy in the afternoon and had a long, nice chat with him about life after Eurovision, TimTams, Beatles, what inspires him when he writes songs and much more. The interview will be posted in a couple of days.

Måns came to Oslo with his little cartoon, and there is no doubt that both they and “Heroes” are very popular in Norway. The audience sang along, and most of them seemed to know more than just the chorus…

The final two artists with a Eurovision connection were the duos Staysmann&Lazz (Melodi Grand Prix 2015) and Marcus and Martinus (winners of MGPjr in 2013). The boys performed their new single “Plystre på deg” (Whistle at you).

Among the guests on the red carpet we could also see a few Eurovision presonalities; Didrik Solli-Tangen, who represented Norway in 2010, Maria Mittet (ex Haukaas Storeng), who represented Norway in 2008, being escorted by former MGP boss Per Sundnes.
