France is looking for well-known singer

France 2 confirmed Marianne James and Stephane Bern will once again provide the French public with their comments during the final of Eurovision Song Contest. 51-year old Stephane Bern is a journalist, radio host and TV presenter who came out in 2009. Two years older Marianne is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and actress.

French broadcaster is currently looking for the new Eurovision entry and few submissions have been already received but nothing is decided yet. The goal is to find well-known and popular singer such as Anggun in 2012. Fans would like to see Kendji Girac or Indila on stage in Stockholm, but it’s not clear if those singers are able to change their previous plans to include Eurovision in the schedule.

As a member of “Big 5” France will perform only in the final of Eurovision Song Contest. Last French entry was “N’oubliez pas” by Lisa Angell and finished on disappointing 25th place with 4 points only. France finished in top5 in 2002 for the last time (with Sandrine François) and is still waiting for it’s 6th victory. Last time France received the Grand Prix in 1977 with “L’oiseau et l’enfant” by Marie Myriam.
