Sanna Nielsen taking over Allsång på Skansen

Not so long ago it became clear that Petra Marklund would not host Allsång på Skansen for the third time in a row. SVT was quick in announcing her successor, though, and it turns out to be none other than Sanna Nielsen!
Sanna could be seen sitting in the audience during Allsång på Skansen last week already, according to that source to feel the atmosphere from the audience.
According to a credible source to Aftonbladet, SVT already decided they wanted Sanna before Petra even announced her withdrawal during the live show of Allsång last Tuesday. Petra declared she wants to focus on her music more, the reason Måns Zelmerlöw stepped down from hosting Allsång på Skansen in the past.

The well-informed source discloses that, apparently, Sanna was considered for the job back in 2014 already, but SVT decided to ask Sarah Dawn Finer instead, who declined, after which Petra was given the honour. ”If SVT only knew back then, what we know now after the success in Melodifestivalen and everything she has accomplished recently”, the source praises Sanna. For SVT she was the natural choice this time, showcasing hosting qualities in Melodifestivalen and doing a great job as commentator for Eurovision earlier this year.

Nöjesbladet (Aftonbladet’s entertainment division) has tried to reach Thomas Hall, responsible for the entertainment department of SVT, for comments, but without success. According to the source, an official confirmation is expected this autumn.
