Albania will participate in Eurovision 2016!

Moments ago, the Albanian national broadcaster RTSH has confirmed to ESCBubble that Albania will be taking part in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Stockholm next May.

The traditional Festivali i Kenges will once again select the Albanian Eurovision entry. As a reminder, Radio Tirana is accepting the songs on the 29th and 30th of September from 9:00 until 14:00 both days. Composers wishing to enter must send in the final version of the song, sung by the singer who is actually willing to compete with that entry and digital pictures of the performer or performers. It is not allowed for a singer or composer to have more than one song in the competition, a lyricist however is allowed to have a maximum of two songs in the running.

Elhaida Dani won last year’s Festivali i Kenges with “Diell”, but due to issues with the composer of this entry, Elhaida had to change her song for Eurovision. She brought Albania back into the Grand Final after a two year absence, and finished in 17th place with “I’m Alive”:

Who would you like to be the successor of Elhaida Dani, and represent Albania in Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm?
