Lena Stamenkovic to represent Serbia with “Lena’s Song”

Serbia’s public broadcaster Radio-televizija Srbije (RTS) have tonight decided to send Lena Stamenkovic to this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Sofia with “Lenina pesma”, known as “Lena’s Song”

Composed by Leontina Vukomanovic, with lyrics co-written by eleven-year-old Stamenkovic and Leontina Vukomanovic, Lena’s appearance at the contest will no doubt be the greatest step her career has had to date, having previously placed fourth in a local children’s talent show. She has demonstrated a love of music since she was a baby and enrolled in Elementary Music School since 2012, excelling in choir and the piano.

Lena’s selection marks the second year Serbia have participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since taking an extended absence. Last year Emilija Djonin represented Serbia in Malta with “Svet u mojim ocima” (World in my eyes) and came in 10th position with 61 points.
