Preliminary participation of Bosnia & Hercegovina to be decided on Friday

According to Factor.ba, Bosnian broadcaster BHRT will decide tomorrow (Friday) to apply for participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. The long-awaited return of Bosnia & Hercegovina is not confirmed yet, as BHRT can simply withdraw until 10th October without paying any penalty. The situation repeated itself over the past few years due to difficult financial situation of broadcaster and in the country. But hope never dies…

Long-term head of Bosnian delegation, Dejan Kukric said Bosnia should participate in Eurovision as this is one of the main project for BHRT, the only Bosnian broadcaster available to participate in the contest. “Everything depends on financial situation which is not bright” – he added.

Last Bosnian entry was “Korake ti znam” by Maya Sar who represented her country in Baku 2012. She qualified to the final and finished 18th. Bosnia is the only one ex-Yu country with continous participation in the final since 2004 when semifinal was introduced. The best Bosnian result is third place for “Lejla” by Hari Mata Hari in Athens (2006).
