Ivana Petkovska & Magdalena Aleksovska speak about their Junior Eurovision entry!

In September, the Macedonian broadcaster MRT held auditions to find the Macedonian representative for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015. Following the auditions, MRT announced that Ivana Petkovska and Magdalena Aleksovska were chosen to represent Macedonia in Sofia, with their song called ”Pletenka” (“Braid” in English). The two 13 year old girls took the time to talk to ESCBubble about their song and their participation at Junior Eurovision.

What was your first reaction when you were told that you would represent your country at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015?

When we heard that, we couldn’t believe it. We were so happy and excited. That was the best thing of our lives. 🙂

How did the two of you meet each other?

I didn’t know Magdalena before the audition. We met on the day they told us that we were going to represent our country together at Junior Eurovision. We are also going to stay friends after JESC. 🙂

How would you describe your song ‘’Pletenka’’ in a few words? Is there a message behind the song?

It is a simple, happy, lovely, childish and catchy song. We wrote the song with love and happiness. The message of the song is that together we are happier and stronger. We want to have a world with love, happiness and no wars.

Do you have any special ideas for your performance in Sofia?

We don’t know a lot about the performance on the stage, but we know that we’re going to have dancers with us.

Are you Eurovision and Junior Eurovision fans? What are your favorite songs?

Yes , we are Eurovision fans and we watch Eurovision and Junior Eurovision every year.

Ivana: My favorite Eurovision song was Polina Gagarina’s song ” A Million Voices”. I really love her song.

Magdalena:  My favorite Eurovision songs are Wild dances (Ukraine 2004), Heroes, by Mans Zelmerlow, and  this year’s Macedonian entry: Autumn leaves.

Besides singing, do you have other passions/hobbies?

Ivana: I love playing volleyball. I train and I play for my school. I also like going out with my friends.

Magdalena: I mostly hang out with my friends and I also practice flute.

At last, what would you like to say to your fans that are going to support you at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015?

We love you all and thank you for the support. We really appreciate it. Big hugs and kisses and greetings from Macedonia. ♥ ♥ ♥

We would like to thank Magdalena and Ivana for the interview and we would also like to wish them the best of luck in Sofia, at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015!

Until the show, that will be held in Sofia, on November 21, you can watch the official video of their song ”Pletenka”:
