Moldova is in for 2016!

Moldova will also be present at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016! Moldovan broadcaster TRM has just released a statement, saying they accepted the offer of the EBU to participate in next year’s contest in Stockholm and have also released the rules for next year’s national final.
A new rule this year is that all the performing artists have to be citizens of Moldova, the composers and lyricists can be from anywhere in the world. Songs can be delivered from Monday to Friday between 9:00 – 17:00 until the 7th of December, 17:00. Songs can also be delivered digitally to eurovision@trm.md up until the same deadline as the physical copies.

The first stages of the selection will be decided by 100% jury selection. Out of all the songs that have come in, they will have the task of selecting the fifty best ones during the first audition round (focussing on the way the performers present themselves, the song, lyrics, production etc.) on December 10 and narrowing it down to 24 during a second audition round on December 19, this second round being transmitted live on www.trm.md.
The selected 24 acts chosen have made it to the semi-finals where 12 each will participate and which will be aired live on the 23rd and 25th of February. In each semi-final 8 semi-finalists will make it to the final: 7 finalists will be decided buy a 50/50 system of jury voting and televoting, while the 8th finalist will be chosen by televoting solely.
In the final, to be held on February 27, the Moldovan entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm will be chosen by a mix of televoting and jury voting, each counting for 50%.
