Deen and Dalal to represent Bosnia & Herzegovina in 2016!

Deen and Dalal Midhat-Talakic will represent Bosnia & Herzegovina in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm!

The Bosnian national broadcaster BHRT announced yesterday that they are back in the Eurovision Song Contest after a three year break. A special press conference was organized for 19:30, where Deen and Dalal Midhat-Talakic were presented as the Bosnian entrant for Stockholm. The song they will be singing in Stockholm will be presented in February 2016, and it is composed by Almir Ajanovic. They will be joined by a celloist Ana Rucner on stage in Stockholm.

Lejla A. Babovic, the Head of International Relations of BHRT said in today’s news programme:

The financial situation of BHRT is still pretty bad, perhaps even worse right now than in the past two years. However, we found a business partner who gave all the guarantees that the costs will be covered. BHRT is giving the licence and our full support to the Eurovision team representing our country. Coming back to the Eurovision Song Contest is not just good for our national TV station, but for the whole of Bosnia & Herzegovina. We are not going to be taking part at the European Championships in football next year, and it is good to take part in at least one European championships – the Eurovision Song Contest. We are coming back 10 years after our best result in Eurovision, and I hope that our public is going to be satisfied with our act in Stockholm.

Bosnia & Herzegovina is one of the very few countries with a 100% qualification record in Eurovision. The last time they were taking part in Eurovision was back in 2012, when Maya Sar sang “Korake ti znam” in the Contest in Baku. Deen previously represented Bosnia & Herzegovina in 2004 with the song “In The Disco”, and finished 9th in the Grand Final.
