Klodjan Kaçani speaks about his entry with Rezarta Smaja in Festivali i Kenges

The 54th Festivali i Kenges, the long-running Albanian music competition which has served as the country’s national selection method since their debut at Eurovision in 2004 will take place in late December. We can find many familiar names in the participant list who will fight for the opportunity to represent Albania in Stockholm next year. One of them is Klodjan Kacani who will perform the song titled “Dashuri në përjetësi” together with FiK-veteran Rezarta Smaja.

This duo will participatate in the second semifinal. Klodjan Kacani found some free time for a little chat with ESCBubble about their forthcoming participation.

What was your first reaction when you discovered that you will take part in the Festivali i Kenges once again?

When the composer Edmond Zhulali offered me to participate in Festivali i Kenges 2015, the first thing I thought was my participation two years ago and I was like: “this time I can do it!”

You finished second in FiK2013 with song “Me Ty”. Can you tell us more about your new song “Dashuri në përjetësi”? What can we expect from your song?

The song is composed by the successful composer Edmond Zhulali, who has touched the Eurovision scene more than one time with his compositions. It has a Pop ballad character and the message is Love.

Can you tell us more about your colaboration with Rezarta Smaja? She took part in FiK three times already and always finished on 7th place.

The reason why Rezarta is chosen is the difficulty of the song and Rezarta is one of the few Albanian singers that can realize this song.

How are the preparations for Festivali i Kenges going?

Preparations are going very well… We’re still think about the performance though.

If you win Festivali i Kenges, would you like to sing your song in Albanian or English in the Eurovision Song Contest?

If I would win the Festival, I think I would like to sing my song in English, because it can touch a wider audience since the song doesn’t just have a melody, but it also has great lyrics.

Are you a Eurovision fan? What’s your favorite Eurovision song?

I started following Eurovision when Albania first entered this competition. There are lots of songs I like, and I can’t choose only one.

What do you think about previous Albanian Eurovision participants?

I think some of them have been really good representations.

Finally, do you have any message for Eurovision fans who will watch Festivali i Kenges online?

I would ask them to support me and I won’t disappoint those who believe in me!

ESCBubble would like to thank Klodjan Kacani for this interview, and we all wish him and Rezarta the best of luck in Festivali i Kenges.
