RTVSLO announces open call for EMA 2016

Slovenian broadcaster RTVSLO has announced an open call for their national final EMA.
Applications for EMA 2016 can be sent to RTV Slovenija via a form on their website until the 21st of December, midnight.
Every composer can send in up to two songs, however there is a rule composers and performers need to abide by: if the composer is not a citizen of Slovenia, the performer needs to be and, the other way around, if the performer is not a citizen of Slovenia, the composer should be. Other general rules are those that apply to the Eurovision Song Contest itself as well: no more than 6 people are allowed in stage and all performers must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the Eurovision Song Contest (May 10).

EMA will consist of one show where up to 12 songs will take part. Besides this open call, RTVSLO  reserves the right to invite composers and/or performers themselves.
Voting will happen in two rounds. After all songs have been performed a jury will pick two superfinalists, after the superfinalists are known it’s the televoters that decide who gets to represent them at the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm.
