Bosnian participation possible thanks to external support only

Studio Tempo Produkcija Company owned by composer Almir Ajanović has been announced as the main sponsor of Bosnian participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 – Lejla A. Babović from BHRT (Bosnian broadcaster) informed during the interview for Klix.ba. She said Studio Tempo Produkcija called BHRT with the offer to cover all costs of BH participation as they would like to send interesting regional team including Croatian musican Ana Rucner. Within five days BHRT managed to agree with other local companies regarding the sponsorship. Nine different companies, including Lutrija Bosne i Hercegovine (National Lottery), BBI Real Estate and Swedish Apu Network decided to help the broadcaster and let Bosnia & Hercegovina finally return to Eurovision after three years break. All those companies will cover the participation fee and Studio Tempo Produkcija will be responsible for the delegation costs.

Lejla A. Babović confirmed no public money will be used for the Eurovision project as Bosnian broadcaster has huge financial problems and due to debts BHRT is expecting power shutdown almost every day. The only reason that Bosnia will comeback to Eurovision 2016 is the enormous financial support by private sources.

Bosnian representative Fuad Backovic Deen said he didn’t have any problems during the negotiations with private companies as they were ready to help. “It should be every year – big companies should stay behind the Eurovision project and the whole country should help. I took part in the Eurovision 2004 when other delegations had three or four PR Agencies in their team. If we wish for good result, top3 or even to bring Eurovision to Sarajevo we have to remember – nothing is working with good will and enthusiasm only. This project won’t be possible without support by Bosnian companies.” – he said.

“We are sure that the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest is a great promotion not only for the public broadcaster or performer, but for the whole country and it’s potential. This opportunity is available only for those who understand that, and companies who are able to see the chance to make their product visible for 120 to 150 million people” – Lejla A. Babović concluded.

Bosnia & Hercegovina will be represented by Fuad Backovic Deen, Dalal Midhat Talakić and Ana Rucner with the song composed by Almir Ajanović. Song premiere is scheduled for February next year.
