Turkey might not be taking part in the Eurovision Song Contest at the moment, but their love of music goes on. Today, the third edition of the Türkvizyon Song Contest took place in Istanbul, Turkey. 21 Turkic countries and regions took part, and the winner was the singer Jiydeş (Jeedesh Idirisova) with the song ‘Kim Bilet’ (‘Who Knows’) who beat last year’s winners Kazakhstan into second place. Host nation Turkey came third. Check out the winning song here:

Languages. Flags. Numbers. Three of my favourite things. So it’s really no surprise that I am a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest! I’ve been obsessed since 1989 when I turned on the TV to see this strange show with people from different countries singing in different languages wearing sparkly outfits and then voting on each other’s songs! I was instantly hooked! I’ve now been to ten Eurovision and looking forward to number eleven in Israel. My favourite Eurovision song of all time is ‘Quand je te rêve’ by Céline Carzo (Luxembourg 1990). I’m pretty sure no one else can say the same thing!
