Daniel Testa is entering the Maltese Eurovision selection for the third time in a row this year! After a third place in 2014 with his hit “One Last Ride“, and 6th place last year with “Something In The Way“, Daniel is bidding to represent Malta in Stockholm this year with the song “Under The Sun”.
We spoke to Daniel Testa about his new song, his team, stage plans, and more. Check out everything he told us in this interview right here:
First of all I would like to congratulate you for making it to the top 20! How do you feel about being in the semi finals of Malta’s selection once again?
It is always a great and different experience. This is my 3rd year in a row taking part in Malta Eurovision Song Contest, and I’m very excited!
How did you decide to enter this Contest this year?
I love Eurovision and it is something which may be hard to describe. Writing music is a great passion.
Can you tell us more about the story behind your song, and the team who worked on it?
“Under The Sun” is about life in general and all that goes with it. We have all encountered problems in the past and overcome them, so if someone is going through a problem at the moment it will eventually all be over as we are all the same “Under The Sun”. Matt Muxu wrote the lyrics and Elton and I wrote and produced the song together.
How are you getting ready for the national final? Did your ideas for the stage performance all come together, and how is everything going to look like?
Rehearsals are well under way. Everything is looking great, and I will have a couple of dancers together with me on stage.
Who do you think is your biggest competition to win the Maltese national final?
All songs are great, and one must not underestimate any song or singer.
What would representing Malta in Eurovision mean to you?
It would be an honor to represent Malta again, this time in Eurovision rather than in Junior Eurovision.

What would be your all time favorite Eurovision song?
My favourite Eurovision song is “Euphoria” by Loreen.
What sort of music do you listen to in your free time, when all you want is to relax?
Working in radio I listen to top 40 music 24/7, however when I want to relax I love to listen to some Coldplay!
What do you do when you are not singing?
I am medical student and a radio presenter on Malta’s number one station 89.7 Bay.
Are you engaged in any other projects at the moment?
Not really. I’m just doing a daily radio show, and studying medicine!
Do you have a message for all the readers of ESCBubble who will support you in Malta’s national final?
I hope everyone likes my song and can sing along to it. Most of all I wish that everyone understands it’s message.
