Today, SVT revealed the official logo and slogan of the Eurovision Song Contest 2016!
The logo is inspired by a dandelion, with sparkling seeds, and was developed by advertising agency INGO. Richard Holst, from INGO said ‘The symbol is a dandelion which is made up of small seeds, coming from all over Europe to gather together and to visualize the positive energy that occurs when the the power and joy of music come together in Eurovision in 2016.’
This year’s slogan, ‘Come Together’ is inspired by the original idea of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956 which was to bring the people of Europe together after World War II. It includes not only those who are present in Globen, but everyone around the world who is watching on TV.
The yearly slogan was first introduced in 2002 in Estonia with ‘A Modern Fairytale’ and has included slogans such as ‘Confluence of Sound’, ‘We Are One’ and of course, last year’s ‘Building Bridges’.
What do you think of this year’s logo and slogan?
