Anna Book disqualified from Melodifestivalen!

The first semi final of Melodifestivalen 2016 will be taking place this coming Saturday in Gothenburg. Earlier today, SVT released short clips from the rehearsals of the seven artists competing in this week’s semi final, and it was suddenly discovered that the song of Anna Book has competed in the Moldovan Eurovision selection in 2014!

A special press conference was held in Gothenburg regarding Anna Book’s entry, “Himmel för två”, and it was announced that the song has been disqualified for the competition, however, the organizers offered to Anna Book to still perform her song during the show, but only as part of the interval act.

The songwriters weren’t present when the decision has been taken, so their reaction to the news is unknown. Anna Book however is heartbroken, as she saw this as her big come-back to Melodifestivalen, after her last attempt being back in 2007 with the song “Samba Sambero”.

Now six songs remain in the competition in the first semi final of Melodifestivalen, four of which are going to qualify – two of them straight to the final, and another two to the second chance. The line-up of the semi final is now as follows:

  1. Samir & Viktor – Bada nakna
  2. Pernilla Andersson – Mitt guld
  3. Mimi Werner – Ain’t No Good
  4. Albin & Mattias – Rik
  5. Robin Bengtsson – Constellation Price
  6. Ace Wilder – Don’t Worry
