Nicky Byrne performed ‘Sunlight’ LIVE for a first time!

Few weeks before the official announcement, there were some rumours about possible participation of Nicky Byrne in the following Eurovision Song Contest. Former Westlife singer was later also announced as its representative with a song “Sunlight“.

So, this weekend was very exciting for Irish Eurovision fans, as Nicky Byrne performed his Eurovision entry for a very first time LIVE in The Ray D’Arcy Show, after he was announced as Irish act and his song as Irish entry at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place later this May in capital of Sweden, in Stockholm. Take a look at his performance below & let us know – what do you think – did Byrne prooved that he can sing live?

Nicky Byrne is first internally selected artist, which will be heading for Eurovision, representing Ireland, since 2007, as they always choose its artist in their national slection, called Eurosong. Ireland is, to date, a country, who won Eurovision Song Contest, since its first participation in 1965, most, seven times. Ireland is known as one of the most successful countries in Eurovision, Sweden is right behind them, as they won six times to date.

Last year Ireland was represented by Molly Sterling, who performed her entry “Playing with Numbers”. She performed in second semi-final, but finished 12th and unfortunately didn’t proceed into the Grand Final.
