It was a very exciting night in Kiev as Ukraine selected their Eurovision entry for 2016 to be held in Stockholm. 6 entries fought for the title, and Jamala got it in the end.
6 acts (Brunettes Shoot Blondes, NeAngely, The Hardkiss, Jamala, SunSay and Pur:Pur) competed in the Ukraine’s National Final to represent their native land in Stockholm in May at the Eurovision Song Contest.
Right after all the songs were performed, there was a break in order to get the votes and count them. The winner was decided by the jury vote (50%) and the televoting (50%). At the end of the show, it was Jamala’s victory with the song 1944.
