Alexa Curtis will sing ”We are” in Valletta!

A few days ago, SBS revealed that Alexa Curtis would represent Australia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016. Tonight, the song, that she will be singing in Valletta, was released.

Alexa is a 12 year old singer. She started singing at the early age of 5. She has made an appearance in an amateur production of ”Oliver” with her brother, another young singer and actor. In 2o14 she won the Australian version of the Voice Kids.

When she found out that she was going to represent Australia in Malta, she said that she was ”still a little bit in shock to be honest”.  She also ”can’t wait to get over there and do what she loves doing most: singing for people”. Finally, she added that, she ”can’t wait to perform her song and she  ”really loves it and hopes Australia and the rest of the world will too”.

Her song ”We are” is written and composed by Ali Tamposi, Tania Doko and Boi 1da.

This year, the Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in the capital city of Malta, Valletta, on the afternoon of Sunday 20 November, after Destiny Chukunyere’s victory in Sofia, last year. Malta also hosted this contest back in 2014. Last year, in Sofia, Bella Paige represented Australia and finished in 8th place, with a total of 64 points.
