Foreign artists won’t take part in Polish National Final 2017

The official rules of Polish National Final “Krajowe Eliminacje 2017” are out and available at TVP’s website in Polish language only. As we informed previously, in 2017 the juries are back and will choose the new Polish entry together with the audience. System 50/50 will be used to determinate the winner but in case of tie the audience favorite will be picked.

The main change is that only Polish citizens can apply and take part in the National Final. Also the artist which took part in other European selections in this season are now banned and won’t be able to participate for Poland. This year Belarussian runner-up Napoli took part in the Polish National Final as totally unknown act and finished last.

The rules regarding the songs are the same as in Eurovision rules. There is no restriction regarding the language of the entry. TVP will collect all the entries until 20th January and publish the list of qualified artists not later than 27th January. 5 to 10 finalists will take part in the competition scheduled for 11th February 2017 in Warsaw. During the show only the name of the winner will be announced.
