Finland have chosen!

In a thrilling UMK final tonight, Finland have chosen their entry for Kyiv in May and it’s the band Norma John with their haunting ballad “Blackbird”

Following an international jury vote, Norma John, which is made up of members Leena (vocals) and Lasse (piano) found themselves with a commanding lead, however we knew from the preview vote that Emma and My First Band had a strong showing with the public

But Norma John had won tonight’s viewers round too, and the final scoreboard looked like this:

182pts – Norma John – Blackbird
145pts – Zühlke – Perfect Villain
106pts – Emma – Circle of Light
97pts – My First Band – Paradise
82pts – Günther & D’Sanz – Love Yourself
63pts – Alva – Arrows
59pts – Anni Saikku – Reach Out For The Sun
58pts – Lauri Yrjölä – Helppo elämä
50pts – Club La Persé – My Little World
18pts – Knucklebone Oscar & The Shangri-La Rubies – Caveman

Tonight’s hosts were the multi-costumed Krista Siegfrieds and  Mikko Silvennoinen and the show included interval acts from Jenni Vartiainen and teenage pop sensations M&M

Finland have failed to qualify for the Grand Final since 2014, they are hoping for a better result this year.  Good luck Norma John and we will see you in Kyiv!
