France to send Alma with “Requiem” to Kiev!

France are the latest country to announce their Eurovision 2017 artist and song!

28 year-old Alma will be flying her Nation’s flag in Kiev, Ukraine this May!

She’s the eldest out of three sisters, and also plays the piano as well as singing and writing songs. After moving to Paris after finishing her business degree, she met with Nazim Khaled (the songwriter of “Requiem”), who also penned Amir’s 6th placed finishing entry from France last year – “J’ai cherché”

Alma is very much looking forward to singing for her country:

“I’m deeply honoured to have been selected to represent my country, France, at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest”

“I strongly hope to count on the public’s love and support to deliver the best performance possible”

Alma has been has named as one of the most promising young artists of 2017, and is an up-and-coming star on digital platforms. Her song, “Requiem” is now available to purchase digitally from a number of outlets. You’re able to listen to her song in full below:

 

Alma’s Eurovision appearances are already starting to go ahead, as tonight she’ll be interviewed of France 2’s music programme, “Alcaline” at 20:40CET, and tomorrow evening she will present an award at the French Music Awards.

France will be competing in the Eurovision Song Contest grand final on Saturday, May 13th.
