Moments ago it has become clear that Croatian broadcaster HRT is sending Jacques Houdek to represent Croatia during the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev.
Jacques is a 35 year old singer of pop and soul music who won the Porin award for best new artist of the year in Croatia in 2004.
He participated in Dora (the Croatian national final) of 2002 and in 2011 he reached second place with Daria Kinzer going to Düsseldorf eventually.
Stotinama Godina was one of the songs that was in contention to be the Croatian entry in 2011 and here is his version:
Jacques is a judge in The Voice – Najljepši glas Hrvatske, the Croatian version of the The Voice format. He was coach for the eventual winner of the first season, last year’s Croatian entrant: Nina Kraljić.
