Here are YOUR qualifiers from Latvia’s Supernova Heat 2

The Latvian selection process ‘Supernova’ continues tonight when 11 more acts will compete for the final 4 places in the ‘semi-final’.  This will then be whittled down to a final four to compete in the final on 26th February to select Latvia’s entry for Kyiv.

Following a series of disappointing results for Latvia, their selection process was rebranded to ‘Supernova’ in 2015 and the new format appears to be working well with both Aminata (2015) and Justs (2016) not only qualifying for their finals, but producing strong results.  The Latvian broadcaster LTV will be hoping to continue that trend in Kyiv.

Since the entrants were announced, we have been running a poll for this heat, and ahead of the show, we can reveal the current standings in that poll which are:

1st (Q): Marcus Riva – ‘Dynamite’ (22.28%)

2nd (Q): Triana Park – ‘Line’ (19.81%)

3rd (Q): Miks Galvanovskis – ‘Runaway’ (16.09%)

4th (Q): The Ludvig – ‘I’m In Love With You’ (15.82%)

5th (NQ): My Radiant U – All I Know (13.07%)

6th (NQ): Toms Kalderauskis: We Won’t Back Down’ (3.16%)

7th (NQ): Katerine Lukins – ‘Sillhouette’ (2.34%)

8th (NQ): The HiQ – Taju Ot Lyubvi (2.20%)

9th (NQ): Up – ‘One By One’ (2.06%)

10th (NQ): Laura Lo ft Chris Oak – ‘Little Weird’ (1.93%)

11th (NQ): Santa Danelevica – ‘Your Breath’ (1.24%)

Our team of Editors also reviewed the songs and (for once) we all agreed with each other on the top four that we think should qualify – they are:

1st: Triana Park,

2nd: My Radiant You,

3rd: The Ludvig,

4th: Santa Danelevica.

And completing our run down were: 5th: Up; 6th: The HiQ; 7th: Katrine Lukins; 8th: Laura & Chris; 9th: Marcus Riva; 10th Miks Galvanovskis and 11th: Toms Kalderauskis.

So we have two very different sets of results, and with only four songs qualifying for the semifinal (to join Linda Leen, Lauris Valters, Franco Franco and Miks Dukurs from the first heat) we could be in for a very interesting show.

Join us this evening for our coverage of the show, for which we will have a live blog to take you through all of the action.  You can watch from 20:25 (CET) via LTV Online
