Ukraine has chosen it’s first two qualifiers who will go through to the Final of their National Selection on February 25th

In a tense results show, the jury revealed their scores first and put Tayanna in 2nd place with 7 points and Salta Nazad, who surprised the audience earlier with his performance of his song “O, Mamo!” in first with 8 points.

Earlier in the evening, NAVI Band from Belarus reduced panel member Jamala to tears with their acoustic rendition of her contest winning “1944” and she rewarded them by running on stage for emotional hugs all round.

Following the jury votes, Georgia’s Tako Gachechiladze proved why she was a worthy winner there with a flawless reprise of “Keep The Faith”

It was then time for the public vote to be revealed …

Whilst some of the scores from the public were identical to those of the jury, they disagreed regarding Salto Nazad and handed 2nd place to  Arsen Mirzoyan, who sang his song “Geraldine” in French! The public put Tayanna first however, and the earlier jury votes for Salto were enough to see him through after coming 3rd with the public

The final results were therefore as follows :

15 – Tayanna – I Love You
14 – Salto Nazad – O, mamo!
11 – SKAI – All My Love For You
11 – Arsen Mirzoyan – Geraldine
9 – MamaRika – We Are One
5 – Roman Veremeychik & Lumiere – Make It Real
5 – Monochromea – Blue Bird
2 – Laliko – Sugar Whisper

And with only 2 qualifying, we will see Tayanna and Salto back on stage on February 25th
