Greta Zazza: ”My song has what it takes to win.”

Greta Zazza, from Lithuania, is participating in the Lithuanian national selection for Eurovision 2017, with her song ”Like I love you”. She is competing with the hope of obtaining the golden ticket to represent her country in Kyiv, at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. She took the time to talk to ESCBubble about her song and her participation in Eurovizijos 2017.

What was your first reaction when you were told that you would compete in the Lithuanian national selection for Eurovision 2017?

I was very very excited and happy because this was my dream for a long time.

Why did you decide to enter the Lithuanian national selection for Eurovision this year with your song ‘’Like I love you’’?

I think that this song is great for the contest. It has what it takes to win. Let’s see if I can help this song to become our Eurovision entry.

How would you describe your song in a few words? Is there message behind your song?

Absolutely. It’s a confession of love. Even if nothing is going to happen it’s important to say that you love someone. Even if it hurts..

Could you tell us a bit more about yourself and your musical career?

I’ve been singing for my whole life. Started when I was seven years old in a girls choir where I spent eleven years. There I got my musical education, learned how to play piano.

When I got older I realized that I wanted to try myself not only in a classical music so I started to get pop vocal classes. During that time I was turing with my vocal coach and other girls around Lithuania, having small gigs, singing all kinds of covers.

Some years later I joined an alternative rock band and for some time I tried myself in a totally different type of music. But I always knew that pop music was what I was supposed to do.

So three years ago I started to release music. had a couple of singles which where quite well played in Lithuanian radios.

But the biggest change in my life happened last year when I decided to move to Stockholm where I live now and work with Swedish songwriters. This is where I recorded my song “Like I Love You”, which was written by a Swedish song writer Jonas Thander.

And with this song I come back to my country Lithuania to try to win national Eurovision selection. That is my biggest aim and goal at the moment.

Do you have other plans for 2017?

Right now it’s all about Eurovision. We’ll see how it goes and then I will make plans for later this year.

Do you have any goals for the national final this year?

To make as good performance as possible.

What would it mean for you to get the chance to represent your country in Kyiv?

I try not to think about it and only concentrate on my performances. If it happens then we’ll see.

Are you a Eurovision fan? What are your favourite Eurovision songs?

Absolutely. My favourite is Euphoria by Loreen

What do you think of the previous Lithuanian participants in Eurovision?

I think they did a great job. Especially Donny Montell!

Do you have any special ideas (ex: dancers, choreography…) for your live performance during the national selection?

I have two dancers and there might be more if I will go far enough in the contest

Do you have musical inspirations?

Beyonce. She’s the queen.

What would you like to say to your fans who are going to support during the national selection?

That it means so much to me. And I just wanna say a big thank you.
