Last December, Louis Walsh announced in the Late Late Show that he would be in charge of the Irish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kiev and that he had chosen the singer Brendan Murray, former HomeTown bandmember.
Over the last months more than 320 songs were sent in and those have been judged by six professionals from the music industry. The winning song is called ‘Dying To Try’ and was premiered not so long ago in Nicky Byrne’s (Ireland 2016) radio show.
RTÉ have now uploaded the song to their YouTube channel as well, see the video for the song here.
The song was written by British Songwriter James Newman and Swedish songwriter Jörgen Elofsson. Elofsson’s songwriting career started in the 90’s already and he is behind several of Kelly Clarkson’s hits.
Brendan will be performing in the 2nd semi-final on the 11th of May!
