Russia send Yulia Samoylova with ‘Flame Is Burning’!

The past few days rumours have been going around about a possible withdrawal of Russia from the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. Moments ago, however, it became clear during the extra long Sunday broadcast of Channel One’s news show Vremja that they would be participating after all!
At the end of the broadcast a video clip of the song was shown, confirming both artist and song and they have chosen for Yulia Samoylova with ‘Flame Is Burning’!

Yulia came second in Faktor A in 2013, the Russian version of X Factor. She also sang during the opening of the Paralympic games of 2014 in Sochi.

Hear the song below:

The song was written by Leonid Gutkin, Netta Nimrodi and Arie Burshtein.
Gutkin has co-written the Russian entries of 2013 and 2015 and last year’s Moldovan entry ‘Falling Stars’.
Yulia will be competing for Russia in the second semi-final, which will be held on the 11th of May.
