JOWST – “I’d Love to Remix Some of This Year’s Songs”

The preview party season is now well under way, and we will be sharing our interviews with each of the acts that we have been meeting at the preview events.  Today we focus on Norway and JOWST (ft. Aleksander Walmann) whom we met in Riga.  The duo are music producer Joakim With Steen (JOWST) and vocalist Aleksander Walmann, and they will be performing ‘Grab The Moment’ in Kyiv.

We chatted to them about their win in the Melodi Grand Prix, their promotional tour, and their preparations for Kyiv.   We also asked them about the other songs in the competitions and their first thoughts, and with Joakim being a music producer we also asked if there were any he was dying to get his hands on to do a remix.  We were surprised by his answer – you can find out what he said by watching our chat with them here:

JOWST gave a great performance of the song at the Riga Party, but being a new project, they didn’t perform any other songs.  But they have promised that the collaboration will extend beyond the contest in Kyiv and they are working on a new song together!.

JOWST will be performing 13th in the running order in the second semi-final on 11th May 2017.  They will be looking to improve on last year’s result for Norway which saw Agnete fail to qualify for the final with her song ‘Icebreaker’  You can listen to ‘Grab The Moment’ right here:
