France 2 are working on a national final!

France has chosen it’s last two representatives, Amir and Alma, internally, but the method of choosing a singer to represent the French tricolore might well be different next year!

Nicolas Copperman, head of Endemol Shine France, was invited this Monday on channel Europe 1 to clarify on the fusion of the television companies Shine and Endemol and while doing that he revealed that they are working on a plan to create a nationwide national final to choose the French representative in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018!

This would mean a nationwide search. There would be regional selections, televised, aired on prime time slots.

This is not the first time France have held a national final to choose their act, the most recent examples being 2014 and 2007, won by Twin Twin and Les Fatals Picards respectively.

This year France was represented by Alma with ‘Requiem’ who reached 12th place in the final!
