Details announced for France’s national selection for 2018

French Newspaper Ouest-France has revealed details of the upcoming French national selection, which is reported to be named ‘Eurovision: Qui Portera Nos Couleurs’, translating as Eurovision: Who will wear our colours.

Former ‘The Voice France’ coach Garou is reported to be hosting the event, and it will be hosted over three evenings in January. The first two programs will be two semi-finals, showcasing approximately fifteen artists. A jury of professionals will choose who will then go onto the National Final.

Just like many of the big five, France has mostly struggled over the last millennium. This has though changed recently, with France coming 12th this year and 6th in 2016, the best result the country has had in fourteen years.

Could a National final produce a better result? Only time will tell. Alma represented France earlier this year in Kiev with her song “Requiem”, and finished 12th in the Grand Final.
