Gianluca Cilia’s song for Junior Eurovision 2017 is ‘Dawra Tond’!

This summer Gianluca Cilia won the Maltese national final that was used to select the artist for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. On that night Gianluca beat nine other acts to win the right to represent his home country in Georgia. They all sang covers of famous songs during this live broadcast from Malta’s capital city Valetta. Some highlights from that national selection can be seen here:

As this was just an artist selection, there was no song in sight yet back then. The song was to be revealed at a later stage and today is that day! Gianluca’s song is called ‘Dawra Tond’ (Spinning Around) and features lyrics in both English and Maltese. This is the first time that Malta uses Maltese in a Eurovision entry since Nicole Azzopardi did so at Junior Eurovision 2010 in Belarus when she sang ‘Knock Knock!… Boom! Boom!’.

So this is the entry Gianluca will be representing Malta with on the 26th of November in Tbilisi, Georgia:
