Joy Fleming dies at the age of 72

Joy Fleming, a singer who represented Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest 1975 with “Ein Lied kann eine Brücke sein” has died last night, at the age of 72.

The management of Joy Fleming announced that this popular singer died unexpectedly last night. They stated:

We lost a great singer, a sacrificial mother and a loving partner who was fully in life.

Even though Joy Fleming only finished in 17th place (in a competition of 19), her song “Ein Lied kann eine Brücke sein” is still one of the classic Eurovision songs, and is still often played at various Eurovision events. After her participation in Stockholm, she tried to make a Eurovision come-back various times, most recently in 2002.

From all of us at ESCBubble, sincere condolences to the family and friends of Joy Fleming.
