Nicole Nicolaou will represent Cyprus in Junior Eurovision 2017!

Cypriot broadcaster CyBC have also revealed their candidate for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017!

Their choice fell on Nicole Nicolaou. Nicole was born in the Cypriot city of Limassol in 2004 and has been vocal lessons for 4 years already as well as 2 years of playing the piano. Next to that, she is fluent in Greek, English and Russian and she’s just started learning French as well!

In her free time Nicole likes to make canvas drawing, something she’s been doing since the age of four, and likes to go wakeboarding an hiking. She is also a huge animal lover and has two dogs, a cat, a hamster and a bunny.

About getting the honour to represent her country at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, she says:

This is such an honour for me to represent Cyprus in Junior Eurovision 2017 where kids from so many countries come together to share a common dream, sing and perform. My inspiration is my family, my friends, my everyday life and activities.

Her song is called ‘I Wanna Be a Star’ and was composed by three-times Eurovision participant Constantinos Christoforou, who represented Cyprus in 1996 with ‘Mono yia mas’, in 2002 as part of the boyband One with ‘Gimme’ and again in 2005 with ‘Ela Ela (Come Baby)’. Antigoni Tasouri will be taking care of the staging of the song.

‘I Wanna Be a Star’ will be revealed somewhere in the upcoming weeks.
