Junior Eurovision 2018 to be held in Belarus!

Just over one month before Junior Eurovision 2017 takes place in Tbilisi, Georgia, the EBU have announced that the 2018 edition will be held in Minsk, Belarus!

This will be the second time that Minsk has played host to Junior Eurovision and it marks the first time that the host city has been announced before the previous contest takes place in a number of years. For the past few years, there has been a clause in the JESC rules that the winning country has first refusal to host the contest, but the Steering Group decided to remove this, and this gives BTRC, the Belarusian national broadcaster, plenty of time to start planning next year’s event!

What do you think of this rule change? Do you agree with it? Let us know in the comments section!

As mentioned, this year’s Junior Eurovision will take place on 26th November at the Olympic Palace in Tbilisi, Georgia. ESC Bubble will be reporting LIVE from the host city, with news, videos and rehearsal gossip!
