The Portuguese national final for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2017 has just ended. Last week it was revealed that one of the 5 children in contention would be singing the song ‘YouTuber’, a song composed by João Cabrita and Mariana Andrade.
Mariana has won the competition over 5 others tonight: Duarte Valença, Mariana Leite, Filipa Ferreira and Margarida Lima. Televoters could have their say through televoting that lasted almost a week, which accounted for 50%, and the other 50% was decided by a jury that all had ties to the Eurovision Song Contest in one way or another:
- Carlos Mendes (Portugal 1968 and 1972)
- Inês Santos (Portugal 1998)
- Pedro Gonçalves (Festival da Canção 2017)
