Saara Aalto to represent Finland in Eurovision 2018!

Saara Aalto, two-time runner-up of the Finnish national selection, and the runner-up of the last edition of the UK’s X Factor has been chosen internally to represent Finland in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest!

YLE has received many submissions for the next Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, their national selection for Eurovision, but in the sea of unknown artists, they decided to select Saara Aalto internally, and have a competition where she will sing three songs and the public and an international jury will choose the best one.

Saara Aalto’s three songs will be presented to the public in January, whilst the song selection will take place in a televised show on the 3rd of March in the Espoo Arena.

Saara Aalto last tried to represent Finland in 2016, when she won the televoting with “No Fear”, but Sandhja won overall thanks to the big support from the juries. Will Finland manage to reach the finals with Saara Aalto after three years in the semi?
