More than 70 songs submitted for Selectia Nationala 2018!

TVR, Romania’s national broadcaster announced that they have received more than 70 songs for their Selectia Nationala, which will determine who is going to represent Romania in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon.

Various well known acts submitted their entries once again, including two former Eurovision artists as well – Mihai Traistariu (who represented Romania back in 2006, and was a finalist in Selectia Nationala in the past two years as well), and Alex Florea – who represented Romania earlier this year in Kiev together with Ilinca, and finished 7th in the Grand Final with “Yodel It!”.

Local stars such as Feli, Jukebox, Eduard Santha and Xandra also entered their songs to this competition, and there are various songs received by authors from various other countries, including Moldova, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Spain, and others.

TVR checked all of the applications, and the first auditions have already started today in TVR’s studios, and they will last until Thursday. A preselection jury will listen to all of the candidates live, and then select the best ones to enter the semi finals of Selectia Nationala.

As a reminder, Selectia Nationala 2018 will consist of five semi finals on the 21st and 28th of January, and 4th, 11th and 18th of February, and a Grand Final on the 25th of February. All of the shows are going to be held in different cities across Romania.
