Details of the Polish Krajowe Eliminacje announced!

The Polish national broadcaster TVP has just announced that they will once again organize Krajowe Eliminacje, in order to choose the Polish entry for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. Acts willing to represent Poland in Lisbon have slightly over a month to prepare and send in their songs, as the submission deadline is the 1st of February.

The rules of Krajowe Eliminacje will be slightly changed for its 2018 edition. Contestants are no longer required to submit video clips before the national selection. The acts taking part in the show have to be Polish citizens, however the same rule does not apply to their entire teams, including composers, lyricists and backing vocalists. The winner will still be decided by 50/50 jury and televote split, but contrary to the previous year they will be awarding points in the Eurovision scale (12, 10, 8-1). Most importantly, in case of the tie the act that received more points from the jury is going to be the winner.

The deadline for song submission is the 1st of February, and the finalists will be announced by the 6th of February. The date of the national final is still unknown, but it is expected to be in the second half of February.

Kasia Mos won Krajowe Eliminacje this year, and represented Poland in Kiev with her song “Flashlight”, which finished in 22nd place in the Grand Final.
