We spoke to Alessandro Danescu, ahead of his appearance at tomorrow’s Romanian final, Selecţia Naţională
Do you think a non-English song puts you at a disadvantage?
Yes, I think a non-English song puts me in disadvantage, because if it was sung in Romanian the message will be more difficult to understand.
How did the song come about? Has it been written from personal experience?
The song came alive by the best producers ever, Jonathan Dahl, Marcus Holmberg, Robin Carlsson and John Ballard. They made a masterpiece. The song is about the love that would be never be the same again. It’s irreplaceable.
Why should you be chosen to represent your country in this year’s Eurovision?
They should choose me because I’m a fresh artist who would be proud to represent his country at this year’s Eurovision.
How are you planning to stage your song?
The stage will be a surprise, but I’m sure you’ll be surprised. Better than the auditions, that’s for sure!
Can you tell us more about your career until now?
I’ve released a song called ‘Me and You’, but I guess that my Eurovision song will help me grow me as an artist.
Who, or what normally inspires you?
In life, I believe in karma and I believe in God. Also the peace and good people inspire me. I get what I deserve. ?
Are you engaged in any other projects at the moment?
I am engaged in my solo projects, to release new songs, who knows, maybe future hits.
Do you normally follow Eurovision, and do you have an all time favorite song?
I followed Eurovision since 2009, they did an amazing job with this. Amazing songs and a nice atmosphere.
What do you usually do when you are not singing?
Well, I love to travel and I also like to go to the gym. I love to dance and listening to music.
Thanks Alessandro and all the best in the Selecţia Naţională!
