A change in the rules and songs release in MESC 2018!
The Maltese national broadcaster has just announced that there will be a change in the rules in MESC – Malta’s Eurovision selection this year, as well as the fact that they are releasing the lyric videos for all of the 16 participating songs.
The original rule at the 2018 MESC was that the winner is going to be decided by televoting only. PBS, Malta’s broadcaster, decided to make a change, and now the winner is going to be decided based on the votes made by the judges and those from televoting, with 50% of the points being given by the judges and 50% through televoting.
All the songs have been released today in full on the official website here (click). Once you listened to the 16 finalists, you can vote for your favorite one in our poll right here:
MESC final will take place at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali on the 3rd of February. Claudia Faniello won last year’s edition of MESC with the song “Breathlessly”, and went on to represent Malta in Eurovision in Kiev, where unfortunately she failed to qualify for the Grand Final.
