Macedonia starts an open call for songs for Eurovision 2018!

Macedonia’s national broadcaster MRT has just started an open call for songs for Eurovision Song Contest 2018!

MRT invites all interested authors and music producers both from Macedonia and abroad to submit their song either in demo or in their final versions, and this way be in with a chance to represent Macedonia at Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon. Songs can be sent in either via email (eurosong.macedonia@gmail.com), or to the following address: Makedonska Radio Televizija, Bul. Goce Delchev br. 18, 1000 Skopje, R. Macedonia, with the note “Za Evrosong 2018”.

To complete your application, you also need to provide the following: the names of all the people who worked on the song, a brief professional biography of the authors, the title of the song, the lyrics of the song, contact details of the members of the team, as well as a relevant link from your website or social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).

MRT will form a special jury which will listen through all of the submitted songs, and select the one to represent Macedonia in Eurovision 2018 in Lisbon. Once the song is chosen, the broadcaster will find a suitable act to perform this song in the Contest. The deadline to submit your songs is the 8th of February.

Jana Burcheska was internally chosen last year with the song “Dance Alone”, and unfortunately failed to qualify for the Grand Final. The last time Macedonia was in the Eurovision final was back in 2012, when Kaliopi represented her country with “Crno i belo”.
