Saara Aalto’s potential Eurovision songs to be presented in February!

After the original plan of organizing Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu with various artists, the Finnish national broadcaster came with a surprise announcement back in November, that they have selected Saara Aalto to represent Finland in Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. The three songs she will be singing in this show will be presented in February.

Saara Aalto tried to represent Finland in Eurovision twice – back in 2011 with “Blessed With Love” and in 2016 with “No Fear” and finished second both times. After her success in the UK’s X Factor where she also came in second place, YLE has finally selected her as the Finnish Eurovision entrant for Portugal.

Saara Aalto’s three songs will be presented in three consecutive Fridays in February, at midnight Finnish time, on the 9th, 16th and 23rd of February (that would mean 23:00 CET on the previous day). The songs along with their video clips will be presented on the official website of UMK.

When talking about her three songs, Saara Aalto said:

All three songs are so great that any of them could be a winner, all having really strong themes and memorable melodies. I think everyone will find their own favorite and the 3rd of March show will be a very tight contest.

In the meanwhile, let’s listen to her latest try to get to Eurovision, which finished second behind Sandhja in 2016 – “No Fear”:
