Sofi Lapina withdraws from the Belarus National Final!

Earlier today, the Belarussian broadcaster BTRC released the running order for their national selection which will take place on 16 February, however in a shock twist, Sofi Lapina has withdrawn her entry “Gravity” from the competition

It is believed that this follows the inclusion of singer Alekseev and his song “Forever” which is alleged to have been performed before the September 1 2017 cut off date.

Yesterday, it was reported that six of the eleven finalists (Alen Hit, Anastasiya Malashkevich, Sofya Lapina, Kirill Good, Gunesh and NAPOLI) submitted a letter to the broadcasters, stating that they would not sign any contracts with them and would withdraw from the selection should Alekseev be chosen to appear in the final.

It seems that at least one of the acts has now carried out this threat.

The running order for the 16 February selection was given as follows:

1. Adagio – “Ty i ja”
2. Alekseev – “Forever”
3. Shuma – “Chmarki”
4. Sofi Lapina – “Gravity”
5. Napoli – “Chasing Rushes”
6. Anastasia Malashkevich – “World on Fire”
7. Gunesh – “I Won’t Cry”
8.  Radiovolna – “Subway Lines”
9. Alien Hit – “I Don’t Care”
10. Lexy – “Ain’t You”
11. Kirill Good – “Deja Vu”
