The Israeli selection to pick their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, Hakokhav HaBa, has just ended and was won by Netta Barzilai! She beat the competitors Riki Ben Ari and Jonathan Mergui in the final round.

Netta Barzilai was quite the spectacle during her audition already, using a so-called looping machine on her voice, which led to interesting vocal tricks. Check out her audition here, where she covered Rihanna’s ‘Rude Boy’ in her own special way:

In the last round tonight she won with 210 points over Jonathan Mergui’s 205. Jonathan was the favourite of the televoters but Netta the favourite of the juries.

A call for songs has been opened already but whether a song has been paired up with Netta yet is unknown, but in any case, we will know in just a few weeks!
