Just minutes ago, the Irish entry ‘Together’ by Ryan O’shaughnessy was played on RTÉ Radio.

The song was written by Ryan himself, who is a former Britain’s Got Talent finalist and Voice of Ireland contestant, in collaboration with a songwriters team known as ”The Nucleus”. That is a new Irish songwriting team and hub, founded by Hamlet Sweeney, that brings the international model of collaborative songwriting to Ireland. The songwriters from that hub Ryan has worked with to compose the song are Mark Caplice and Laura Elizabeth Hughes.

Back in January, when Ryan was announced as the Irish representative, he stated:

As one of three songwriters on “Together”, I’m delighted it has been chosen to represent Ireland in Eurovision 2018, and on top of that, to be asked to perform for my country is an absolute honour. I plan on doing Ireland proud by bringing a song and performance to Eurovision that we haven’t seen since the days of “Rock And Roll Kids”.
