I’ve watched Eurovision for the first time as 1997 to watch the UK win, the one night in our house we could stay up past our bedtimes! In 2013 I got a distinction in my MA in Popular Music Studies with my thesis entitled Performing the Nation, Writing Its Song: An Ethnography of Performer and Songwriter Identity in the Eurovision Song Contest for which I interviewed some of my favourite Eurovision acts! My favourite Eurovision Winner is "Euphoria" and my favourite Eurovision songs of all time include "Lane Moje", "Jan Jan" and "Todas as Ruas do Amor".
