Alexander Rybak makes a special appearance in Virtuos!

Norway is one of the very few countries which have taken part in each edition of Eurovision Young Musicians since 1986. This year they chose the talented 15-year-old cellist Birgitta Elisa Oftestad in the tv show “Viruos”, where Alexander Rybak had an appearance as a special guest.

Alexander Rybak has a strong classical music background, as he attended the famous Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo. He is also known for supporting young musicians, and organizing classical music seminars together with them. At “Virtuos” he was the special guest where he performed “Jealous” together with NRK’s Orchestra. Check out this performance here:

In the Grand Final of four, the juries and the televoters from all over Norway have decided that Birgitta Elisa Oftenstad is going to represent her country later this year in Edinburgh at the 2018 Eurovision Young Musicians. Alexander Rybak will however represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest in a month’s time with “That’s How You Write A Song”, having won Melodi Grand Prix for the second time.
