Evestus is announced as spokesperson for Estonia!

The spokesperson for the jury votes from Estonia for the Grand Final has been announced, and it’s Evestus!

We last heard from Evestus at the Eesti Laul final, on March 3rd where band leader Ott Evestus lead his project into 8th place with “Welcome To My World”

Having previously chatted to Evestus about his thoughts on bringing Industrial Rock onto the Eurovision stage, we contacted him again to see how he felt about this announcement, and he gave us his initial thoughts :

Mart Normet (Estonian HoD) approached me with the offer and I was all in! I think this is a good way to promote diversity – that’s what our performance was all about at Eesti Laul – because even though we all promote the freedom to be yourself and be unique etc. – there is still so much discrimination based merely on how people look and with Eesti Laul I managed to break some of that at least in Estonia where I have little old ladies come to me and shake my hand and thank me for the song and show – the kind of people who before would have been afraid to pass me on the street. Anyway – what I want to say is that it’s a bold move – asking me to be the spokesperson – but I hope it will serve as a sign that we are moving towards a world where people are judged less by their looks and more by their actions
